The Pediatric Dialysis Program at the University of Florida consists of an expert team of physicians, nurses, nutritionists, social workers and child life specialists who assist children with chronic renal failure.
Our team works with families to provide individualized therapy for each child and provide guidance on behavioral and developmental issues. We also assist in arranging transport and visiting nursing services.
Our team now provides its renal patients with plasmapheresis. Plasmapheresis is the process of separating cells or unwanted components from a patient’s blood and returning the desired components, along with the replacement fluids, to the patient.
